I think this is a wonderful series. It starts with "The Sentinel Mage" and ends with the "The Blood Curse". The lead characters are trying to end a potentially apocalyptic curse by destroying the 3 anchor stones that make the curse possible. Each book is the journey to destroy one of the anchor stones. To really understand the story and get the most of the character development you need to read the whole series in order. Each book picks up where the last one left off. There is plenty of action, interesting characters, good world development, at least as much as you really need to know, and an interesting system of magic I don't recall seeing anywhere else. The author deftly moves the story from 3 to 4 different points of view without disturbing the flow of the story. If you enjoy fantasy stories, I would definitely look into this series.Tags : The Fire Prince (The Cursed Kingdoms Trilogy) [Emily Gee] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. <b> The Seven Kingdoms are in the grip of an ancient and terrible blood curse. Good read for second in the series good expansion of characters New challenges and emotions. More New characters too with New skills
Loved the book. Bought it right after finishing the Sentinel Mage. The development of the characters is great, and the author's understanding of how it takes time to adjust to a new perception of ones' self really makes the unbelievable aspects of the story feel more real. I'm waiting for the final book in the series!
You have to read the first book first to understand this book. Its a middle book, another trip to a stone to break the curse. the best part was not the trip to the stone, but saving the young princes. Cliff hanger of a story with nothing solved. On to the next book, which hasn't be written yet, cause its not available. I got a little tired of the same hiding of secrets and mages dying. Hope fully the third book ties all the loose ends up.
As a continuation of my last review, this book was excellent. Sometimes shifting POVs between a huge cast of characters can get exhausting or mess up the pace, but Ms. Gee handled it perfectly! An author I will follow! Excellent book and series!
I have read the trilogy 3 times. Because I get easily bored and there are many books that I do not finish, this is a really strong recommendation. I am not a fantasy buff, but this book is excellent as is the trilogy. Read them in order, if you can.
This is my very favorite fantasy trilogy of 2018.
I am currently trying to locate all 3 physical books. So I can have them forever and always!
Seriously this is an epic fantasy story the only way it could be better was if Emily Gee wrote a novella after the end. I would cry happy tears.
❤💜 these books.
As a sequel to Sentinel Mage this stands out as better written than the original. Her freshman effort was stilted and flat, but enjoyable for the interesting story and take on magic. Here she improves in both her writing, finding a measure of fluidity and pacing that previously lacked, as well as developing the characters into something closer to three dimensional. In doing so, however, she seems to sacrifice the pacing from the previous book, bogging down at times in a literal bog. Overall, she's displayed all the elements to write an excellent book. As this and the previous end in cliffhangers, fingers crossed the final book in the trilogy puts all of those elements together into an amazing cohesive finale.
